Gino Guarnieri was released to work in forestry with the Civil Aliens Corps on the 16th May 1944. The letter below gives his address as Camp 3 Peechalba East.

As expressed, Gino had no reason to complain about his work as a cook and caterer at the camp.

But he was cognisant of  1. lacking in professional development and keeping abreast of trends over the four years he had been behind the barbed wire and 2. that he was aware there was a shortage of cooks for employment in hospitality venues in Melbourne.

On the 14th July 1944, Gino received a response. Under the provisions of the National Security (Aliens Service) Regulations, approval for his release from the Corps 'cannot be granted'.
