Pasquale was born on 5th July 1889 at Cerasuolo (Isernia) Italy. He and his wife Clementine lived at Westbourne Park, London, England. He stated his occupation as a terrazzo worker on his Australian record and biscuit maker on the 1939 British Register.

While he survived the sinking of the Arandora Star, his two brothers Alfonso and Carmine were ‘lost a sea’.

Upon arrival in Melbourne on 3rd September 1940 on the Dunera, he was transferred directly to the Broadmeadows Military Hospital, Melbourne with seven other Italians requiring medical treatment and with Dr Zezi and Dr Manzocchi.  Pasquale was released from hospital and transferred to Tatura Camp 2B on the 20th September 1940.

A document dated 13th February 1942, advised that Pasquale was approved to return to UK for further consideration by the Advisory Committee.  At this time, he along with the remaining Dunera Italians were in Loveday Camp 10.

The next group of Italian internees to return to the United Kingdom did not depart until July 1942. This was too late for Pasquale.

Pasquale Pacitti died at the Loveday Camp hospital South Australia on the 6th June 1942.

Initially buried at the Barmera Cemetery, South Australia, in 1961, all Italian internees and prisoners of war who died in Australian during WW2 were re-interred at The Ossario, Murchison Cemetery, Murchison, Victoria.
