Felice Parravicini was released to work with the Civil Aliens Corps for work in forestry on the 16th May 1944 with a group of Dunera internees.

Within two months, his name was put forward to be re-assigned for work in one of Canberra's hotels.

While in Australia he had worked in the camp kitchen and he was an experienced chef having owned and operated establishments in London.

He must have made an impression as the letter below stated that Felice had ‘excellent qualifications as a chef’.

There was an absence of chefs in Canberra and while Major Layton and Mr Gardyne of the Civil Aliens Corps approved of such a transfer, no further action was taken.
