Courage

With the war progressing well for Italy, Dorando Borzoni wrote a letter to his sister in October 1942. Buoyed by the news, many Italians still held hope of glory for Italy as Dorando's words convey: 'courage, as everything is in our pocket'. Disappointment and disillusion would come from July 1943, after the occupation of Sicily by the Allies then progress onto mainland Italy.
His letter was written a month after the group returned to Tatura Camp 2 from Loveday Camp 10. The rabble he refers to is in reference to the fact that they were now sharing a camp with German and Austrian refugees.
