Luigi Becci was born in Borgataro (Parma) Italy on the 13th June 1905. His Australian record document that he was a café proprietor in Aberdeen, Scotland when he was arrested on the 10th June 1940.
In 1938, Luigi lived at 187 Overgate, Dundee when he married Maria Zanrè in Dundee, Scotland. At the time of Luigi’s arrest they lived at 150 Crown Street, Aberdeen.
On the Valuation Rolls for Aberdeen 1940-1941, Luigi rented at shop at 141 Crown Street, Aberdeen and listed his occupation as confectioner.
His time in Tatura and Loveday Camps was without comment by the Intelligence Office. Luigi was photographed in January 1943 at Tatura Camp 2A.
Luigi was released to the Civil Aliens Corps to work in forestry on the 16th May 1944. He returned to Liverpool, England as a ‘released internee’ on the SS Athlone Castle, on the 29th March 1945.
He continued to live at Crown Street Aberdeen and then Fonthill Road Aberdeen. On the 24th June 1980, Luigi passed away.
